Inclusive culture
We foster inclusive culture, ensuring that art and creativity are accessible to all people, regardless of their origin, age, ability or economic status. Through different initiatives, we facilitate access to culture in Bizkaia, promoting diversity and social integration through art and music.
Inclusive Culture is an initiative that seeks to democratise access to culture and remove the barriers that hinder people’s enjoyment of it. With a diverse programme covering music, theatre, exhibitions and artistic events, this initiative aims to ensure that no one is excluded from the right to culture.
Furthermore, it works to overcome structural factors that may limit access, such as economic circumstances, disability, age, gender or cultural background. To this end, accessible and inclusive spaces are created, where everyone can actively participate in cultural life.
Who is it for
- People in vulnerable situations, providing opportunities for access to cultural events and activities.
- Children, young people and adults at risk of social exclusion, so that art is a tool for integration and personal growth.
- Persons with disabilities, eliminating physical and cognitive barriers in the cultural offer.
- Associations working with groups at risk of exclusion.
- General public, promoting diversity and inclusion in the artistic and cultural sphere.
Initiatives
It consists of various actions aimed at ensuring accessibility and cultural participation:
- Etorkizuna Musikatan: A space of integration through music, where children and young people in contexts of cultural diversity and risk of social exclusion are part of an inclusive orchestra. This project promotes coexistence, creativity and personal development through art.
Access to culture: Facilitates the participation of people in vulnerable situations in cultural events, festivals, exhibitions and museums, promoting social inclusion through art. - BBK ART(e)gileak: The BBK ART(e)gileak initiative was born with the aim of generating contexts for artistic creation through dialogue with people using social centres located in Bizkaia. The intention is to stimulate the exchange, creativity, experimentation, imagination and innovation of creative people and their spontaneous collaborators.
- Gertu Kultura Bizkaia: A program that facilitates access to culture for people in vulnerable situations, in direct collaboration with social entities.
- Social programmes of the Guggenheim Museum: On the one hand, workshops/ activities in certain centres, among others, hospitals, day-care centres, centres in the mental health field…
On the other hand, guided and free visits to centres or associations of disadvantaged people in situations of social vulnerability, economic, identity, migrants, etc. In addition, visits with content tailored to people with special needs, physical, intellectual or mental.
