Since it was founded in 1907 the Caja de Ahorros Municipal de Bilbao, the BBK Banking Foundation has been deeply linked to the economic and social development of Bizkaia. Over more than a century, we have evolved to adapt to the changing needs of our community, always with the aim of promoting the well-being and prosperity of our land.

The BBK Banking Foundation drives purposeful investment, aligned with social, environmental and governance values. In 2024, more than 37 million euros have been allocated to transformative projects that meet the needs of Bizkaia, thus ensuring sustainable development for the territory and its people.

It is based on economic and social sustainability, allocating the resources generated to transformative projects. This model guarantees the continuity of its social work, improving life in Bizkaia.

We work together with institutions, companies, third sector entities and citizens to co-create solutions that improve people’s lives. In 2024, we collaborated with 330 entities on more than 240 projects, generating strong partnerships that drive innovation and social cohesion.

Our social action covers the whole of Bizkaia. In 2024 we were present in more than 100 municipalities, bringing our resources and programmes closer to diverse communities and building a more inclusive future. Because our roots begin in every corner of the territory.
