BBK Klima Centre
BBK Klima was set up in the heart of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve as the main hub of the BBK environmental strategy. This cutting-edge centre goes beyond the nature classroom concept to become a living laboratory to experiment, learn and act against climate change. Its magnificent setting provides a direct connection with the environment and each visit becomes a real commitment to our planet.

A place for change
For more than a century, BBK has headed projects that meet the needs of the territory. BBK Klima means that BBK is now bolstering its commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the Basque Green Deal, by setting up a community of agents of change to pave the way together for a greener Bizkaia. It is open to citizens and organisations who are seeking to have a positive impact through innovation and sustainability.
Services and Venues Available
BBK Klima offers multi-purpose facilities designed to connect with nature and facilitate learning about sustainability. The centre offers two options: venues suitable for corporate events, and rooms designed specifically for entrepreneurial projects and companies aligned with Bizkaia’s sustainability ecosystem. In addition to adaptable lighting and advanced sound systems, the centre boasts cutting-edge technology for unique sensory experiences that boost the impact of each event or meeting.
Venues Available
- Klimaterpe: Versatile and open-plan multi-purpose building, overlooking the sea and with direct access to the promenade. It is ideal for conferences, presentations and large events, and can hold up to 260 people.
- Dome: Geodesic structure inside the Klimaterpe which provides an immersive audiovisual 360º experience and vibration systems. It can hold up to 50 people.
- Outdoor Areas: There are a natural amphitheatre and spacious green areas along the Urdaibai river estuary. They are perfect settings for informal presentations or open-air activities. They are able to hold over 200 people.
- Co-working Rooms: These rooms are in the main building and are fully equipped with workstations, meeting and communal areas for medium- or long-term projects.
- Loft and Meeting Rooms: Private venues fitted with the necessary technology for corporate retreats and team meetings in a privileged setting.
