Udalekuak

The 39th Udalekuak will kick off in June; it is a recreational and educational programme that aims to make children aware of the importance of looking after our planet. This summer, Udalekuak will be a leisure space where the participants will take part in cooperative and fun activities to learn about sustainability and climate change, while helping to look after the environment both in the present and in the future.

Sustainability will be present in each aspect of this year’s edition. When it comes to catering, priority will be given to quality, locally-sourced, balanced and healthy food, to encourage responsible and mindful food habits among youngsters.

Udalekuak also continues to be committed to the Basque language as the usual means of communication, by fostering its use among participants. At the same time, the use of English will be encouraged in some simple and amusing activities, where children will have the chance to learn as they have fun.

Children born between 2013 and 2019 (both inclusive), officially registered as residing in Bizkaia and who are holders of an active savings product (Plan Gaztedi/A Account with Kutxabank) and up-to-date with all the instalments and/or who are holders of an investment product (Investment Fund or Delegated Management Portfolios) with Kutxabank.

• 2-23 March: Registration period through the BBKyTU portal.
• 24 April: Place allocation notification (own application on the BBKyTÚ portal and by email to the address given in the application).
• 15 May: Deadline to accept or refuse the place (BBKyTU portal or using the link that will be sent to the email address given in the application). Failure to accept a place within the period set will be taken to be giving up the place.
• 16 May: 20% of the amount will be charged if a place is cancelled, unless duly justified, after being accepted from 16 May to 31 May.
• 1 June: 50% of the amount will be charged from 1 June to 28 June (day before the Udalekuak starts).
• 29 June: 100% will be charged from 29 June onwards.

• The amount will be charged at the end of the stay.

There will be four (4) sessions with each being six (6) days long (from Monday to Saturday):

1. session: 29 June – 4 July.
2. session: 06 – 11 July.
3. session: 13 – 18 July.
4. session: 20 – 25 July.

Children will need to bring a photocopy of the Osakidetza (Basque Health Service) card with them. Enough clothing for the whole stay. One suitcase per child. The name and number allocated to the child must be on the suitcase and every item of clothing. Children will not need to bring towels (shower), sleeping bag or sheets. They cannot bring valuable items, money, mobile phone, music players or sweets. They will need a water bottle and a small backpack for outings.

Under no circumstances will be organisation be liable for the loss, breakage or wear and tear of the personal items of the participants.
